Captain Phillips' Minneapolis Somali Actors

"Greengrass says it was important to him to find young Somali actors to play the part of the pirates. He held auditions in Minneapolis —€” where there is a large Somali community €— and hundreds of actors showed up."

Barkhad Abdi, Barkhad Abdirahman, Faysal Ahmed and Mahat M. Ali were the Somali actors from Minneapolis who played the pirates in "Captain Phillips". There are all these interviews going around with Tom Hanks and Paul Greengrass about how they went to Minneapolis and got hundreds of Somalis out to audition but the mainstream isn't giving all that much mic time to the four young actors themselves. There's a brief thing at GlobalGrind and a few snippets here and there. Still, it isn't much. I'd kind of like to do something in Vita.MN, assuming someone else isn't already on the story.
