Next up: "Paul Atreides Superstar"
Been a pretty busy week with writing. Finished a story for the Choose-a-tron, got a couple of arts reviews in, and did a bunch of stuff not all that blogworthy.
The Choose-a-tron story is a charming little epistemological exercise titled "The Zombie Always Wins", which shouldn't disappoint anyone because, you know, truth in advertising.
Speaking of zombies, I did this review of "Kung Fu Zombies Vs. Cannibals" earlier in the week that seems to be resonating with a lot of readers. That's because the show resonated with me and, apparently, in all the ways the creators meant it to. So see it if you get a chance. I haven't heard anyone who has complaining.
"Paul Atreides Superstar: the David Lynch Dune Musical" is my next project. I've been piecing lyrics together here and there as I've run between other projects over the last few months and, now that some other big projects are out of the way, I'll be trying to remember where I've scribbled everything so I can type it all up in one place and send it to Joe Ye, my co-creator.
I knew of Joe Ye from his work in Cantankerous Folk, but I got to see his stage work during this year's Fringe Festival. He worked on two shows: "Circe! A Musical Oddysey" and "Centipede!" We've had a few unplanned pre-production discussions since then and you'll all be happy to know that he seems quite capable of reigning me in when I get too tropey. Not that there won't be tropes, mind you, but we gotta have more than just tropes. So Joe will be on Rob wrangling duty for the next few months while we hash this script out. Should be interesting.
